I believe that John F. Kennedy's assassination had the most impact on America. I say this because he was a very liked and was the president of the United States. He is said to be very charismatic and witty, which made people like him. He also was a huge part of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

I believe that the atomic bomb dropped on Japan was unnecessary for many reasons. There is evidence that Japan was already on the verge of surrender when the bomb was being produced. I believe that the use of the second bomb, "Fat Man" that was dropped on Nagasaki was completely unnecessary for the Japanese were severely wounded from the attack on Hiroshima. Thousands were killed, most were innocent civilians, men, women, and children. These places didn't even get any warning and those that did survive died of either radiation, starvation, or poisoning. I believe that Japan would have surrendered even if the bombs were not dropped.
I believe that the C.C.C or the Civilian Conservation Corps, had the biggest impact in the Great Depression Era. I believe that the C.C.C had the biggest impact because it created a lot of what we use today. They planted trees, they created parks, conserved natural resources, AND they got payed, which they desperately needed since the depression left many people's lives in ruin and bankrupt. It payed men a dollar a day but gave their families much more. It helped a lot of people get back on their feet.
In the 1920s, I most likely would meet Charles Chaplin and talk about his movies. I chose this event because I like comedy and if I was living in the 1920s, I am pretty sure I would be fascinated with the concept of movies. I also chose this event because I would most likely ask questions about what he's actually saying in his movies (since they're silent) and how he came up with some of his concepts for his movies.
I believe that the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia was the most important reason for the U.S. joining World War I. I believe this because when this revolution happened, it pulled Russia out of the war, causing a setback for the Allies, especially since the Brest-Litovsk Treaty between Russia and Germany gave peace between both of them. The U.S. had to join after this or the Allies would have surely fallen.
I believe that Alaska was the most important place for the U.S. to acquire in the late 1800s. I believe this because Alaska became our 49th state. However, that is not all, Alaska also came with farmland, gold, and oil, all good natural resources that we needed. We increased the area of the U.S. by 1/5 and we now have trade in the Pacific as well.
I say the moving of the Native American people to reservations had the biggest impact on the West because of the Native Americans were treated poorly on them. I say this event had the biggest impact because later in the West era, the Native Americans decided to fight back, causing many Native American people, woman, children, and men alike, to die along with many white people too. This affected the West because this caused some tribes and traditions to die, such as the Ghost Dance Religion.
Railroad builders had the biggest impact on the West. They had the biggest impact on the west because if they had not built these railroads, miners would not be able to get the food and supplies they needed in time. Also it helped people get through the desert and mountain areas easier.
The passing of the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendment had the biggest effect on the Reconstruction Era. It had the biggest effect because, for example, the 13th amendment abolished slavery which meant that the slaves were now free. Also, the 14th amendment gave these freedmen citizenship and were now citizens of the U.S. Which brings us to the 15th amendment which said that these people could now vote as well.
The election of 1860, four candidates, completely different people, however what if there were only two candidates? John Breckenridge and Abraham Lincoln. Would that change the outcome of this historical event? Well, I believe it would but not by much. You see, Abraham Lincoln was against slavery so most people in the North would vote for him and John Breckenridge was all for slavery so people in the South would vote for him. Not so different from what actually happened in history, however what about the people in between? What about the people who voted for Stephen Douglas or John Bell? Well, I believe then those people would HAVE to pick a side then, slavery or freedom. So it really depends on how many of those people that are not sure, pick one or the other. However, it wouldn't be much different than what actually happened because I believe that Abraham Lincoln would still win because there are more people in the North, he just would have more votes than originally because of the people, that weren't sure, that chose freedom.
